Dear Grace Family,
As much as I missed y’all this past Sunday, being away often gives me a renewed sense of perspective and appreciation for our beloved church. It’s easy for me (and most of us) to look at the various areas of our lives in terms of what we want to see change/grow/improve. It can be harder, though, to simply be thankful for what the Lord has done and is doing in one area of our lives or another. Will I always want us to get “better” at being a biblically faithful church? Yes! The problem, however, comes in when that desire to grow shades out the heart of thanksgiving for who we already are and what God is already doing. I’ll dare say that our church family is, little by little, figuring this thing out. Seems to me that we are enjoying each other more, are gracious with each other more, and are more ready and available to be long suffering with each other. All of this is evidence of the Spirit’s working, and we need to be ever thankful. Like it or not, we need each other. In God’s providence, He has designed it to where our commitment to one another through the vows we make and the lives lived together is for His glory and our good. Isn’t that an encouraging thought? Our faithfulness to God as a church body brings much deserved glory to the Head of the Church! This Sunday we’ll have another chance to come together and be thankful for all that He is doing and all that He has done. See y’all soon!
Humbly yours,
Seth
